Faculty members are drawn from around the world, are highly qualified in their field(s) of expertise, and combine a solid academic background with ample professional experience as business leaders, industrialists, entrepreneurs and/or consultants. They all hold a Master or Doctoral degree (or equivalent) and have relevant teaching experience at other schools, colleges and/or universities.

Combining academics with significant management practice allows for the creation of an excellent learning environment, bringing real business concepts into the classroom. Faculty members employ interactive teaching methods, providing for close student-teacher contact. Also, each year several courses are taught by visiting professors, offering a consistent level of quality across campuses.

Prof. Alasdair White, UK

With a wide-ranging professional background, Professor White joined UIBS in 2012, teaching at our campuses in Antwerp and Brussels in Belgium. Professor White completed his own education at the King Alfred’s College in Winchester, U.K, which is part of the University of Southampton, and is currently completing his Doctorate studies at UIBS. With his professional experience lying mainly in International management development and training consultancy, Professor White has worked and taught courses all over the world covering Europe the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Professor White teaches courses such as organizational behavior, cross-cultural management, advanced consumer behavior, creative advertising, personnel performance management and sales management at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Dr. Alberto Sandoval, Spain

With an extensive corporate and teaching background, Professor Dr. Sandoval joined UIBS in 2012, teaching at our campus in Madrid in Spain. Professor Dr. Sandoval completed his own education at Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid where he completed his Doctorate in Business and Economics. During his professional career Professor Dr. Sandoval worked in positions such as Stock investment manager, CFO, specialist for derivatives sales and structuring and as vice president in investment banking, at companies such as Bank of Bilbao Vizcaya, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and CLM-Telemensaje. Professor Sandoval teaches courses such as budgeting, quantitative research methods and managerial economics at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Alfred Lowey-Ball, UK

With extensive professional experience, professor Lowey-Ball joined UIBS in 2011, teaching at our campuses in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Brussels. Professor Lowey-Ball completed his own education at Rice University in Houston and Wharton Graduate School in Philadelphia in the U.S.A. During his career Professor Lowey-Ball has worked mainly as a Project and Process engineer, Business development director, Marketing Manager in the petrochemical and oil & gass industry for companies suh as Phillips Chemicals and Shell Oil Co. Professor Lowely-Ball teaches courses such as operations Management, marketing management, econimics and entrepreneurship at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Alvaro Galceran, Spain

Professor Galceran joined UIBS in 2011, teaching at our campus in Madrid. Professor Galceran completed his own education at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas. During his career Professor Galceran has mainly worked as a Financial planning associate Director, Head of Competitive Intelligence and Chief Financial Officer at companies such as Proctor & Gamble Europe and VISA Spain. Professor Galceran teaches courses such as business ethics, principles of finance, budgeting and cost-volume-profit analysis at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. An Winnepenninckx, Belgium

Having recently joined us in 2017, teaching at our main campuses in Antwerp and Brussels, Professor Winnepenninckx completed her own education at the Erasmus Hogeschool in Brussels and the University of Leuven in Belgium. Besides her vast experience as a lecturer at various institutions in the field of tourism, Professor Winnepenninckx also used to work as an independent consultant on revenue management and marketing optimization in TAIEX affairs for the European Commission Professor Winnepenninckx teaches courses such as eco-tourism and hotel management at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Dr. Anya Nikoulina, Russia

With an impressive educational background, professor Dr. Nikoulina joined UIBS in 2010, teaching at our campus in Zurich. professor Dr. Nikoulina completed her own education at the University of Houston, and a has a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Having a varied professional background, professor Dr. Nikoulina has worked mainly in the oil & gas industry, real estate, consumer electronics and retail distribution. Professor Dr. Nikoulina teaches courses such as effective public relations, brand management, creative advertising and digital marketing at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Ariel Castillo, Spain

Having joined UIBS in 2012, Professor Castillo completed his own education at the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes in Buenos Aires, Argentina and ESERP Business School and Barcelona University in Spain. Professor Castillo has been lecturing in various institutions since 2003, and has mainly worked as a consultant and account executive for his own firm and companies such as Caesar Park and Park Hyatt hotel. Professor Castillo teaches courses such as tourism management, business communication, hotel management and media and mass communication at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Arthur Ross, UK

Being one of our senior faculty members, professor Ross joined UIBS in 2007, teaching at our main campuses in Antwerp, Brussels and Barcelona. Professor Ross completed his own education at the University of Dallas and European University. With a wide-ranging professional background professor Ross has mainly worked as a lecturer, project and commercal coordinator, marketing consultant and sales representative. Professor Ross teaches courses such as sales management, public relations, marketing and consumer behavior at the Undergraduate and Graduate level

Prof. Belen Aldecoa, Spain

With extensive professional experience, professor Aldecoa joined UIBS in 2014, teaching at our main campus in Madrid. Professor Aldecoa completed her own education at the Autonoma University, Escuela de Negocios and Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain. With vast experience in the oil & gas industry, professor Aldecoa mainly worked in human resources for BP oil Spain and Europe. Professor Aldecoa teaches courses such as personnel planning and work design, compensation strategy and systems and personnel training and development at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Bernhard Kolb

Professor Kolb recently joined UIBS in 2016, teaching at our campuses in Zurich and Geneva. Professor Kolb completed his own education at the University of Berne Law School and the University of St. Gallen. With an extensive professional background, Professor Kolb has mainly worked as Legal Advisor, Deputy Head of the Legal Department, Head of Corporate Staff, Director of Human Resources and Organization and Head of Global HRM and Communications for companies such as VASCO Data Security International, TEL Solar Services AG and Ascom Management AG. Professor Kolb teaches courses such as personnel recruitment and selection, compensation strategy and systems, crisis management, international labor relations, managing growth and leadership at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Dr. Camelia Nistor, Romania

With an impressive educational background Professor Dr. Nistor joined UIBS in 2015, teaching at our campuses in Amsterdam, Antwerp, Brussels and Zurich. Having completed her own education at Babes-Bolvay Univeristy in Romania and Robert Schuman University in France. Her professional experience ranges from having been a reporter, radio journalist to having worked at the European Commission and the European Parliament. Professor Dr. Nistor teaches courses such as business communication, globalization and integration corporate communication strategies, effective public relations and European perspectives on globalization at the Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate level.

Prof. Carl Pitchford, UK

Being one of our senior faculty members, professor Pitchford joined UIBS in 2007, teaching at our campuses in Antwerp, Barcelona, Brussels and Zurich. Professor Pitchford completed his own education at the University of the West of England, U.K. With a wide-ranging professional background, professor Pitchford has mainly worked as a consultant and a lecturer in he financial services sector. Professor Pitchford teaches courses such as aplied international financial management, cost-volume profit analysis and production management at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Chieko Nakabayashi, Japan

With a vast educational and professional background, professor Nakabayashi joined UIBS in 2011, teaching at our campuses in Amsterdam, Antwerp, Brussels, and Tokyo. Professor Nakabayashi completed her own education at the Atkinson Graduate School of Management and Cornell University, U.S.A. With a varied professional background, professor Nakabayashi has mainly worked as lecturer and as an area officer, unit chief, consultat and chief evaluator for organizations under the United Nations and the Japanese government. Professor Nakabayashi teaches courses such as macro economics, international economicsm globalizations and integration, mergers and acquisitions, tourism and hospitality management at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Edgar Barroso, Spain

Edgar Barroso is currently an international consultant at Avertica Consulting Group. He also works as a professor and lecturer at different national and international universities and graduate schools, companies, as well as other official organizations (ICEX, Madrid Government, etc.).  With 20 years of professional experience in different business fields and as a New Venture & Franchise entrepreneur (American Hotel Register, Telepizza, The Clean House Franchises, etc.), he specializes in International Business, International Marketing, Hospitality Management, Entrepreneurship, and Franchise Development Systems.  He holds a Bachelor Degree (BBA) in International Business and Marketing from SIU – Paris (France) as well as an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management – Chicago (IL, USA).   At present Edgar Barroso collaborates with business magazines such as the Emprendedores (Entrepreneur) magazine, and he writes and participates in the development of different blogs and podcasts.  Most of his professional career has taken place in France, Spain, and the United States where he held different leading management positions. Now he resides in Madrid, Spain, where he moved in 2004 to take over the direction and control of several entrepreneurial and franchising ventures.  Professor Barroso teaches courses such as applied consumer behavior, effective public relations, negotiation techniques, marketing management, and small business management at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Dr. Eva Szalvai, Hungary

Professor Szalvai completed her Ph.D. in International Communication (2008) at Bowling Green State University, OH, USA, her MA in Arts Management (2001) at University of Akron, OH, USA and her M.Sc. in International Economics (1981) Corvinus University, Budapest, Hungary, and has been teaching various courses at UIBS United International Business Schools such as Professor Szalvai has 13 years of experience in university teaching and over 20 years of experience in international business and HR consultancy. Before joining UIBS, Professor Szalvai worked for Colby-Sawyer College, NH, USA as Assistant Professor of International Business. Being a critical researcher, her interest focuses on the forms and effects of globalization, and it includes a multidisciplinary approach to international business, development economics, and cross-cultural management. She regularly attends international academic conferences and has published her research papers internationally. Professor White teaches courses such as globalization and integration, applied international financial management, leadership and global business development at the Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate level.

Prof. Ezgi Toprak, Turkey

Professor Toprak is Ph.D. researcher in the emerging field of innovation and creativity, researching about creative practices and products particulary in high-end fashion industry with emerging designers. As an anthropologist, she is interested in applied anthropology in design context, innovation and new tecniques of craftsmanship. She takes interdisciplinary approach towards fashion design by synthesizing academia and industry. Professor Toprak teaches courses such as fundamentals of fashion management, applied retail strategies, event management, entrepreneurship and psychology at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Gour Saraff, India

Mr. Gour Saraff is the Resident Director and Board Member of Europe India Chamber of Commerce in Spain. Currently he is engaged as a business angel in developing business strategy of a high technology startup and assisting Spanish companies expand into global markets. He is an international executive with over 30 years of experience in managing startups and projects in United States, India, East Europe, Spain and UK.  He has helped to create new businesses in the fields of robotics, machine vision, biotechnology, voice recognition systems, flat panel display technology and semiconductors.  He has worked for McDonnell Douglas where he was responsible for structuring joint ventures and licensing agreements between Spanish companies like Telefonica and US companies from the Silicon Valley. He has worked on projects with the USAID, the Government of India and the Governments in Spain. Mr. Saraff is socially active in the Spanish community. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and speaks English, Spanish, Russian, Hindi, Rajasthani, and Bengali. He obtained his MBA from New York University in Finance. Prior to becoming a Professor, Guy Ngayo has worked 5 years for Hilti, a manufacturer and distributor of construction products in the area of strategy and marketing in local markets and on a global scale. Prof. Guy Ngayo also have experiences in management consulting (6+ years) from Accenture and Andersen consulting and as trade attaché (1,5 year) at the French Embassy in Washington DC. Prof. Guy Ngayo earned an MBA from Thunderbird in Glendale Arizona (USA)  in International management, a Master in competitive intelligence at HEC Montreal (Canada), a Master in Sociology from University de Rouen in France and University of Montreal (Canada) and a BBA in psychology and sociology at the university de Rouen in France. Prof. Dr. Helena Pleinert

Professor Helena Pleinert completed her PhD at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and has been teaching HRM, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Management as well as conducting career workshops at UIBS United International Business Schools. Professor Pleinert has 16 years of experience in HR. She is currently the CEO of Pleinert & Partner, an HR Consultancy operating internationally out of offices in Zurich and Helsinki. Her focus is in innovation in HR as well as executive coaching. She also serves on the Boards of two NGOs and of a start-up. She founded Pleinert & Partner in 2003 and was previously a Partner in an investment company and prior to that a project leader in physics research. Helena Pleinert is an Austrian citizen who grew up in Europe, Africa and Asia and speaks English, German, French and Finnish. Professor Pleinert teaches courses such as personnel planning and work design, global leadership styles, managing growth and contemporary cases in global entrepreneurship at the Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate level.

Prof. Dr. Ivan Tselichtchev, Russia

Ivan Tselichtchev , currently professor at the Niigata University of Management, Japan, is an internationally renowned expert and writer on the global and Asian economy and business—actively writing in English, Japanese, and Russian. He is the author of four books, the coauthor of the recent popular book, Asia’s Turning Point  (John Wiley & Sons, 2009), a contributor to many other academic publications, and the author of around 200 articles. Ivan Tselichtchev was born in 1956 in Moscow, USSR; graduated from Moscow University in 1979, joining Russia’s leading think tank the Institute of World Economy and International Relations the same year; got his PhD in Economics in 1983; and became a Senior Fellow in 1984. In 1989, he came to Japan as the Institute’s representative and also as the Guest Researcher at the Japan Center for Economic Research in Tokyo. Teaching in Niigata since 1994, he has also worked as a part-time faculty member in a number of leading universities in Japan and lectured in different countries around the world. He is a commentator for the CNBC international TV network. In Gorbachev’s perestroika  years, he was awarded the Labor Valor Medal. In 2004, the Cabinet Offi ce of the Government of Japan named Ivan Tselichtchev Seikatsu Tatsujin (A Master of Life), which means a person with outstanding achievements and lifestyle. Prof. Jon Örn Gudbjartsson, Iceland

Jon Orn Gudbjartsson has a Master’s Degree in Public Relations and Business communications as well as an MBA degree from tUIBS. He has an MA degree in Icelandic Literature from the University of Iceland as well. Mr. Gudbjartsson has been working as a director of marketing and communications at the University of Iceland since 2007. The University of Iceland is now on the list over 300 best universities in the world according to Times Higher Educational Supplement.  Mr. Gudbjartsson is an experienced lecturer, both in international universities and on international conferences world wide on several topics related to e-Business, marketing, journalism and public relations. Mr. Gudbjartsson is an entrepreneur in the software sector and has a wide experience in winning new markets for new products and companies’ world wide by using intergraded communication skills.  He was a marketing and PR director in the software and business consultancy business from 1993 to 2006 where he directed marketing and sales of Microsoft compatible solutions world wide. He pioneered software and business consultancy companies from start-ups into profitable businesses and branded new software with extensive results in international markets. Mr. Gudbjartsson was among founders of Landsteinar Corp. in Iceland that got the Export Award of the President of Iceland in 2001. Landsteinar Corp. was as well nominated as the best marketed company in Iceland in 1999 and was among the fastest growing companies in Europe in the late 90’s. Mr. Gudbjartsson is an experienced television host, a news reporter and journalist and has an extensive experience in making TV and radio programs. He has been member of the International Press Association since 1987.  His latest work in this field, broadcast on Icelandic Public TV in November 2011, gained enormous attention in Iceland where he focused on science medium. For the last three years Mr. Gudbjartsson has been rebranding University of Iceland. Prof. Jonas Ljunggren, Sweden

Jonas Ljunggren holds a B.A. in International Economics from The American University of Paris and a M.A. in Corporate Communication from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He has worked for Bloomberg Markets and as a Communication Director for EADA in Barcelona. He has previously lectured at Pompeu Fabra and is affiliated with UNED in Madrid. He is currently involved in applied economic research focused on regional development with a strong component of communication. By teaching he further develops his passion for sharing and comparing knowledge. Prof. Lorenza Caenazzo, Italy

With a MSc in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Padova and an Advanced Master in Telecommunications from Politecnico di Torino, Lorenza Caenazzo has more than 15 years of experience in the ICT area. Before joining UIBS she worked for the major international telecommunications service providers and Swiss consulting companies. Since the beginning of her academic experience, she has been teaching Operations and Business Management subjects, such as Total Quality Management, Project Management, Business Intelligence, Change management, and Information systems. Lorenza is also author of some technology-related articles about the future and the development of ICT that were published on major Swiss magazines and newspapers, such as the Asut Bullettin and Handelszeitung. Lorenza is Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified. Professor Caenazzo teaches courses such as total quality management, enterprise resource planning, change management and contemporary cases in technology management at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Manuel Blazquez, Spain

Manuel Blázquez Merino is Industrial Engineer from Spanish University for Distance Learning (UNED) in the area of Electronics and Automatic, as well as Technical Engineer in Electricity from ICAI - Pontifical Comillas University. Awarded as the 2009 Best Thesis by the Education Society of the IEEE - Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Ministry of Innovation by the project "Creation of learning objects and meta-analysis of Applied Technologies for Teaching Electronics" funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain. Prof. Blazquez has been a teacher in Secondary High School since 1996 in the area of Technology, a bilingual English Section Coordinator in Instituto “Ramiro de Maeztu” in Madrid, a trainer of future teachers in Technology since 1998 in Electronics and Automatization, and a Professor in undergraduate courses at UIBS related to Information Systems. Previously, since 1990, as an engineer in several industrial companies: electronic test workbenches for aircrafts control systems in INDRA, manufacturing process control in ENA Telecomunicaciones, technical development of patent documentation in collaboration with the Patents and Trademarks Spanish Office and software programming for parametric calculation  in Natural Gas networks in the company Remica SA. Co-editor of contents in EDUCON 2010 and TAEE 2010 conferences. Author of four student books in Technology area and several study guides for teachers. Co-author in Santillana Student Enciclopedia for Secondary School Students. Author of contents for Technology public teachers examinations. Currently, also collaborator with Electronics and Computers Department in UNED in projects related with learning objects and ubiquitous exploitation of web services for teaching and learning. As part of the collaboration, several technical articles and papers have been published in national and international conferences. Professor Blazquez teaches courses such operational decision-making tools, total quality management, production management, business intelligence, managing growth and information systems at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Nancy Michels, USA

Professor Nancy L. Michels earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University.  She teaches Marketing, Strategy and Sales Management courses at United International Business Schools. Professor Michels has over 20 years experience in business strategy, marketing, scenario planning and leadership development. Before joining UIBS in Zurich, Professor Michels was based in San Francisco and Boston as a Partner at Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte), a global management consulting firm.  She worked with senior management of corporate clients on topics including business strategy, marketing, new product launch, scenario planning and organizational change, in a variety of industries including healthcare, consumer products, industrial materials and financial services.  She managed client relationships, facilitated client meetings and oversaw consulting project teams to deliver the highest level results.  She also spent time helping clients enhance their skills through leadership training and executive development.  In addition to teaching at UIBS, Professor Michels serves on the board of United Planet, an international non-profit organization that provides international volunteering/service learning opportunities. Professor Michels teaches courses such as analyzing marketing opportunities, planning marketing programs, sales management, developing marketing strategies at the Graduate level.

Professor Russo joined UIBS in 2015 and teaches at our campus in Milan, having completed his own education at the University of Turrin in Italy. Professor Russo teaches courses such as principles of finance and global banking at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Dr. Parissa Haghirian, Iran

Professor Haghirian joined UIBS in 2012 and teaches at our campus in Tokyo, having completed her own education at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria. (DR?) Prfossor Haghirian has been a freelance consultant her entire career focussing on the marketing industry. She has also been a lecturer since 1993, teaching all over the world, ranging from Vienna, to the Ukraine, Finland and Japan Professor Haghirian teaches courses such as applied business strategies, strategic management, managing growth, consumer behavior and asian perspectives on globalization at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Professor Debroux joined UIBS in 2012 and teaches at our campus in Tokyo, having completed his own education at INSEAD and the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium. Professor Debroux teaches courses such as asian perspectives on marketing, asian cultures and regional business environment: asia at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Philippe Leliaert, Belgium

Being one of our senior faculty members, professor Leliaert joined UIBS in 2009, teaching at our campuses in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Brussels. Professor Leliaert completed his own education at Heriot-Watt University in the U.K and at the Rijksuniversiteit Ghent, Belgium. Professor Leliaert has been active in higher education since 1993 at various institutions and has worked mainly as a general manager, controller and internal audit manager for companies such as Toyota Motor Europe, Daimler-Benz coordination center, ICI imagedate and ICI Electronics. Professor Leliaert teaches courses such as digital business marketing, digital business analysis, change management and comprehensivecases in e-business at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Professor Burlace teaches courses such as personnel planning and work design, personnel recruitment and selection personnel training and development and personnel performance management at the Graduate level.

Prof. Rolf Jakobi

Professor Jakobi teaches courses such as applied consumer behavior and marketing management at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

Prof. Ruth Nash, UK

Being one of our senior faculty members, professor Nash joined UIBS in 2009, teaching at our main campus in Barcelona. Professor Nash completed her own education at the Open University Business School in the U.K and IESE Universidad de Navarra. With a wide ranging professional background, Professor Nash has worked as a regional manager, international auditor and consultant for companies such as Balfour Williamson & Co, Deloitte and Amway De Espana. Professor Nash teaches courses such as operations management, innovation and entrepreneurship, project management, business intelligence and strategic management at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

With a wide ranging educational and professional background, professor Van Mulders joined UIBS in 2012, teaching at our campuses in Amsterdam, Antwerp, Brussels, Milan and Zurich. Professor Van Mulders completed his own education at Newport University, U.S.A, the University of Antwerp and the Handelshogeschool Antwerpen in Belgium. Professor Van Mulders has a vast professional experience in the maritime trade and port sector, and has worked mainly as a senior business development manager, international consultant in logistics for companies such as BP, ExxonMobil and the Antwerp Port Authority. He currently is also an honorary consul general of the republic of Benin. Professor Van Mulders teaches courses such as analyzing marketing opportunities, small business management, marketing management, brand management, international labor relations and international transportation and logistics at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.

With an impressive educational background, professor Khojateh joined UIBS in 2012, teaching at our campus in Tokyo. professor Khojateh completed his own education at the Iran University of Science and Technology, Tarbiat Modarress University in Iran and the University of Tsukuba in Japan. Having a varied background, professor Khojateh has worked mainly as a project manager, systems engineer and lecturer. Professor Khojateh teaches courses such as Asian perspectives on management, supply chain management, total quality management, enterprise resource planning and Asian management styles at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.
